This letter is ridiculous! The person asking the question was asking them to justify the year 607 BCE, but they spent most of the time talking about a 70 year period. The only thing they had to say about the year 607 BCE was that they are basically waiting for yet undiscovered evidence.
The kicker is that the Watchtower Society's own literature supports the year 587 BCE as the year Jerusalem was destroyed.
I agree Shawn. Their defense for 607 BCE seems quite weak. But then giving up 607 means giving up 1914. That could lead to a collapse of their authority structure.
