Captives Of A Concept.

I agree that this is one of the best books I have read about the Watchtower Society since Ray Franz's "Crisis if Conscience."

I got Don's book about a month ago and I was more than pleased with it. It hit so many of the points that I pondered back when I left in September of 1992.

Like Don and Peter Gregerson, I tried to convince myself that it was God's Organization and I went back and looked at the teachings between 1914 and 1919 when Jesus was supposedly reviewing all of the Christian religions.

After just a two day review I knew that there was no way he selected them as the faithful and wise servant.

Don's book tackles this issue regarding this concept which binds the JW's and completely deflates it. Great book Don!

"I finished your book last night at about 2:00 in the morning!!! It was so good, I had a hard time putting it down. Wow, you did an AMAZING job!! All that research and hard work.

"I appreciated so many points, I wouldn't know where to start. I did appreciate how up to date it is. We just had that March Watchtower that you referenced, concerning the 1918 appointment. I had noticed that too.

"My mind is so keen now on noticing overstatements and references to specific information. More lately than ever before. I feel like scales have fallen from my eyes!!

"I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated your book. As I mentioned, I am going to continue to go to meetings on Sunday. My prayer is that I can quietly, tactfully and graciously help the people that I love. And maybe for the first time in my life, actually working on my spirituality as an individual not as a member of the organization.

"I also will be ordering Ray's book soon. I am looking forward to reading that as well.

"Again, I don't even know you, but please know how much I appreciate you and your helpful book.

Lura"
